 The Museum
( THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR MORE. )

The Oswego Historical Museum occupies the ground floor of a two-story building downtown that is owned by the Society. Its displays of furniture, artifacts, artwork and photographs offer a glimpse into the lives of those who settled the town and built it up over many decades.

410 Commercial Street

The Museum is open weekday afternoons, 1:00 - 5:00 PM, from June 1 to October 31 each year. Visitors are also welcome at other times by appointment; please call ahead as far in advance as possible, to ensure that a volunteer will be available to oblige you. There is no admission charge, although donations in support of the Society's work are always welcome.

Highlights include rooms set up as a kitchen, a parlor, and a bedroom, just as they might have looked to our grandparents. There are Indian artifacts from the Oswego vicinity. The Civil War played a big role in our town's history, so naturally there are memorabilia honoring veterans of that war and later conflicts. And would you suspect Oswego was once home to a nationally famous musician or an Arctic explorer? You can find out more about these and other prominent citizens when you visit the Museum!

Please check back periodically. We will be adding new information to this section over time.
